Terms of use

Last updated 13 September 2026

Agreement

By downloading or using Softcap you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app — nothing else in your life changes.

The software

Softcap is provided free of charge. Its source code is published for reading and building at github.com/milushov/softcap; publishing it there does not by itself grant further rights to the code beyond what the repository states.

Your provider accounts

Softcap reads your subscriptions with your own credentials, on your machine. Your Anthropic and OpenAI accounts remain governed by those companies' terms; Softcap neither extends nor circumvents them, and what you do with your accounts remains between you and your providers.

Acceptable use

Use the app for what it is: a reader of your own subscription limits. Do not use it to misrepresent readings, to probe accounts that are not yours, or to abuse a provider's service.

No warranty

Softcap is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. A reading is a reading, not a guarantee — providers change their systems, and a number on screen can lag reality.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, the author is not liable for any damages arising from the use of Softcap — including work interrupted by a limit the app did not predict.

Affiliation

Softcap is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Anthropic or OpenAI; Claude and Codex are their owners' trademarks.

Changes

These terms can change with the app. The date above moves when they do, and continued use after a change means acceptance of it.

Contact

Questions about these terms reach the author at lapster.me@gmail.com.
